POSITION DESCRIPTION

Certis is seeking a highly motivated and self-directed, Human Resources Manager to provide leadership and oversight over job description development, recruiting and talent acquisition, new employee assimilation, compensation and benefits benchmarking, goals and objectives support, employee retention, training & development, cultural enhancement, and HRIS systems and tools with a goal to achieve, and sustain, Certis, as an Employer of Choice/Great Place to Work.
The successful candidate will report to the Chief Financial Officer and will be an individual contributor in the shorter term, with the potential and interest to advance to Director-level within 2-3 years.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Capacity Planning

  • Coordinate with Business Development, Accounting and Functional leaders to understand the current/future demand projections; compare them with capacity estimates, and recommend new hire timing based on key capacity gaps.

Job Description Role Clarity and Objectives

  • Facilitates the development, review and update, as necessary, of Job Descriptions inclusive of employee goals and objectives, in partnership with Functional leaders and Managers.

Recruiting

  • Utilize various tools and relationships, affordably, and effectively, to engage potential high-fit interns and candidates for emerging business opportunities/needs. Facilitate and coordinate the interview and interview feedback process to enable efficient use of candidate/Company time, and conduct reference and background checks, as appropriate.

Training & Development

  • Develop and monitor Company commitment to advancing employee competencies, skills and behaviors thru programmatic engagement with Company management.

Reward & Recognition

  • Select and utilize, affordable and responsible compensation and benefits benchmarking tools to ensure that the company understands industry/regional dynamics related to talent management and acquisition/retention. In addition to conventional and periodic reward and recognition, work with functional managers to establish promotional “ladders” that highlight key competencies, knowledge, experiences and/or behaviors necessary for career growth and promotional opportunity. Finally…architect a program that recognizes, at the moment of truth, contribution “above and beyond” and in alignment with Certis company values. Own the integration and reconciliation of performance, and compensation, within the business.
  • Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS)
  • Evaluate, select and implement, as appropriate, systems, tools and processes/workflows to enable the scalability of talent management.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, MBA desirable
  • 6+ years of relevant human resources, talent acquisition or related experience. Life Science and Services preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills: the ability to roll up (or down) and convey critical information crisply
  • Strong knowledge of Federal and State EED regulatory guidelines
  • Membership in SHRM or related functional organizations
  • Some experience with local recruiters and/or agencies, and with benchmarking platforms
  • Balanced on policy and empathy
  • Self-directed, collaborative and team-oriented
  • Creative/innovative
