The Supply Chain – Shipping and Transportation Manager role is responsible for the packaging, shipment and transportation of products and samples. This role will ensure that Andelyn’s processes, procedures, certification, and training is in compliance with current shipment regulations and maintained throughout the organization. This individual will interactively work with both internal and external clients to ensure requirements and expectations are identified and met or exceeded. This role will also develop processes to optimize the interstice transportation of materials between Andelyn facilities.  Qualified candidates- must have experience with domestic and international shipments, including biological products and/or dangerous goods with required shipping certification.

Under the guidance and direction of the Materials Management Manager, essential functions of the Shipping and Transportation Manager include at a minimum:

 

·       Serve as internal Subject Matter Expert in the shipping and transportation of product, samples, and materials (i.e., UN 3373 Class B Dangerous Goods) to domestic and international destinations

·       Ensure Compliance with all current regulations pertaining to the packaging and shipment of product, samples, and materials

·       Package Shipments for Transport for all functional areas within Andelyn

·       Generate, Utilize, Store and Maintain all documentation associated with shipments

·       Ensures shipping processes are up to date and current with all shipping regulation and best practices within the industry

·       Take a proactive approach in the tracking and communication of all shipments

·       Direct interaction with clients to set-up, coordinate, and manage shipments

·       Update and develop internal policies and procedures to ensure all shipping/transportation is performed in accordance with current regulations

·       Ability to properly identify shipping fications for biological and chemical substances

·       Responsible for shipper certification process and ensures all back-up shippers maintain certification

·       Train Andelyn employees and departments to ensure compliances with shipping policies, procedures, applicable laws, and regulations

·       Coordinate/schedule/conduct site to site transfers of materials and samples between Andelyn facilities

·       Position requires travel between multiple central Ohio sites

·       Ensure shipping costs are accounted for and invoiced appropriately

·       Exercise discretion, judgment, and personal responsibility

·       Operate within the Quality Management System applicable to the manufacture of phase appropriate material in the CMF

·       Maintain compliance with applicable regulatory requirements for cellular and gene therapy products

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required:

 

·       Must possess relevant four-year degree OR relevant master’s OR relevant PhD, background or experience in transportation, logistics and dangerous goods.

·       Eight years relevant (w/4 YR deg) OR four years with relevant certification or graduate degree

·       Experience in biologics or gene therapy preferred OR extensive experience in highly regulated field

·       Prior supervisory experience is preferred

·       Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and adjust as priorities change

·       Must be highly skilled in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) including data interpretation and reporting

·       Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a diverse and inclusive work environment

·       Must possess a client-focused mindset in daily tasks

·       Must possess prior experience handling confidential information and the ability to maintain confidentiality


  Minimum Physical Requirements
