The Andelyn Biosciences’ Contamination Control group is seeking a motivated individual to join our growing team as a Technician I - Cleaning and Disinfection (Contamination Control).


The Technician I - Cleaning and Disinfection (Contamination Control) is responsible for maintaining environmental conditions within the manufacturing operations by working in collaboration with Facility Operations management and staff, the Technician I will perform a variety of cleaning tasks in support of day-to-day operations. The Support Technician I will also support production efforts by following appropriate practices, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Work Instructions (WIN).

Under the guidance and direction of the Facility Operations Manager, essential functions of the Technician I - Cleaning and Disinfection include at a minimum:

  • Performs routine cleanroom facility cleaning
  • Demonstrates knowledge of cleaning and pertinent facility SOPs. Maintains appropriate cleaning documentation as required by GMP regulatory standards
  • Demonstrates knowledge of appropriate chemical use to meet department standards (know chemical, its proper use and preparation, appropriate labeling, and storage requirements, etc.)
  • Practices proper cleaning methods of bio-contamination control in conjunction with cleaning procedures (proper use of cleaning materials and other equipment, observing appropriate contact time of various cleaning agents, decontamination of cleaning materials and equipment, etc.)
  • Maintains cleaning equipment and supplies in a clean, orderly fashion and good working condition
  • Adheres to facility gowning requirements and practices personal hygiene. Maintains current gowning requirements by passing annual gowning qualification
  • Meets or exceeds regulatory standards of quality as evidenced by quality assurance inspections
  • Comprehends basic concepts of room specifications, airflow, biosafety levels, etc. to operate using appropriate methods and routes
  • Manages facility gowning material inventory within the gowning areas
  • Exercise discretion, judgment, and personal responsibility
  • Demonstrate a high level of integrity

  • Performs in accordance with established policies, procedures, and techniques and requires training common experience or working knowledge related to the tasks performed
  • Performs tasks as assigned

  • Documentation of all activities performed according to SOPs
  • Learning technical and professional skills
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Must possess High School Diploma/Equivalent, background in the life sciences, biotechnology, or gene therapy industries preferred
  • No minimum experience
  • Experience in highly regulated field preferred
  • Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and adjust as priorities change
  • Must be computer literate in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a diverse and inclusive work environment
  • Must possess a client-focused mindset in daily tasks
  • Must possess prior experience handling confidential information and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

 

Minimum Physical Requirements

  • Frequently Independently lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Frequently Talking on the phone or in-person
  • Frequently Typing on a computer keyboard
  • Ability to wear cleanroom gowning and other PPE regularly
